Theft-Czech President Teased for Pocketing pen (video)

PRAGUE - Czech media chided President Vaclav Klaus on Tuesday after a viral Internet video showed him discreetly pocketing a ceremonial pen during a visit to Chile in what viewers are calling a theft.. The video has logged more than 100,000 in two days and caused a media stir, with television news shows repeating the video and papers splashing it on the front page. “Even though protocol allows Klaus to take the pen, with which the foreign minister signed a transport agreement, as a souvenir, Internet users are branding the Czech president as a thief,” daily Mlada Fronta Dnes wrote.

Mega-mane- Sonya Cristy's long long red hair is hot property with hairdressers

Sonya Cristy
The 35-year-old contracts manager for Translink grew her extraordinarily long red hair while travelling in Europe 15 years ago, in order to have something to sell if she ran out of cash."Hairdressers had offered to buy it because it's thick and orange," said Ms Cristy."Happily, I never had to sell but it was good to know I could if I desperately needed money."Falling to just above her knees after a 15cm "trim" on Sunday, Ms Cristy said having long locks was both a charm and a curse."I've had people come up to me overseas who recognised me from my hair," she said."And once Bono (from U2) approached me in the Portobello Markets in London and told me I had really nice hair. I didn't know who he was at first. I just thought "who's this weird old drunk dude?"." On the downside Ms Cristy regularly gets her tresses caught in car doors and windy days can be hell.
Sonya Cristy"When it was really windy, like a tornado, I got it wrapped around a traffic light. That wasn't much fun," she laughed.Despite measuring more than a metre in length and weighing several kilograms, Ms Cristy said her hair was not high-maintenance."I cut it myself, or have a friend do it and I use whatever shampoo is on special at the supermarket," she said.

Beware-Wrong numbers: Lotto error stings Colo. Couple

PUEBLO, Colo.  — It pays to doublecheck those lottery numbers — if you want to avoid heartache.
couple from Pueblo, Colo., found that out after they checked their tickets' numbers in the local newspaper. At first, Jim and Dorothy Sprague say, they experienced a lot of joy on Sunday morning when they looked in the Pueblo Chieftain to find that their numbers were winners. "I woke up and found out we were millionaires," Jim Sprague told NBC station KOAA. In his excitement, Sprague called his children to tell them he'd won the $4.3 million jackpot.
Then came the disappointment: The newspaper had mistakenly published Friday's Matchplay numbers in place of Saturday's Colorado Lottery drawing."We had told my son and my daughter, and we were getting ready to tell our other kids, but we found the mistake, that it was wrong," Sprague said. "It's a good thing that I didn't talk to too many people."

Idea-Farmer dyes sheep orange to stop them being stolen

The sheep’s strange colour makes them less prone to being stolen, apparently (Picture: Stuart Clarke)

John Heard put his 250 blackface ewes through a harmless dye to make them stand out and so less likely to be pinched. ‘It produces strange-looking sheep but it has done the trick and I haven’t lost one this year,’ said Mr Heard, who says 200 of his sheep have been stolen in the past few years. 'It works because they are so easy to distinguish making it easier for me and my neighbours to keep a wary eye out for them.'
Sheep-rustling has become a big problem, with ewes worth about £140 each.
