Exposure - Woman strips naked in airport

A traveller at a Bermuda airport last week was tired of being strip-searched -- so she took all her clothes off right there in line."If you want to see me naked, you can do it right f***ing here," Loukai Phillips told customs officers at LF Wade International Airport, according to the island's Royal Gazette newspaper. The 36-year-old Bermudian who now lives abroad flew back to the island to take care of some financial matters. Her lawyer, Charles Richardson, told the paper she made the "impetuous decision" because she was frustrated at getting strip searched every time she returns. She pleaded guilty to indecent exposure in a public place and apologized to the court. The judge gave her a 12-month conditional discharge and told her, "If you don't want to be searched, don't come through customs."

Assault-Prisoner attacked cellmates with feces, urine

CALGARY - Two "disturbing" attacks on prison cellmates with human waste have landed a Calgary man a nine-month jail term. Provincial court Judge Brian Stevenson said Jeremy Edward Bemis' conduct, coupled with his lengthy criminal record warranted a period behind bars. And Stevenson said Tuesday the nine months will be served on top of the more than four months of remand time Bemis has already spent behind bars."It's clear that the record of the accused ... is what we quite often call abysmal," Stevenson said.Crown prosecutor Frances Turner outline two separate assaults - one in April, the second in May - on Bemis's jailhouse roommates. The first, on April 11, occurred at the arrest processing unit, when Bemis was housed with another prisoner."He urinated on a fellow inmate," Turner told Stevenson.A few minutes later Bemis returned his cellmate's bed and punched him, cutting him for several stitches.More than a month later, on May 27, Bemis again attacked a cellmate, this time at the Calgary Remand Centre.Turner said Bemis had told his cellmate the feces "bomb" he was making was intended to another prisoner. But while the victim slept in his bed, Bemis "threw a cup of feces and urine on him.”"The victim was covered from head to toe," Turner said."The circumstances (of the two crimes) are particularly disturbing," she said.Defence counsel Jim Lutz said Bemis, 33, has battled alcohol abuse for most of his life.
"He ... has struggled with an alcohol addiction since he was 10 years old," Lutz said.

Bad Idea-Police stop man from transporting fridge in car trunk

Police were called to a parking lot in Richmond, B.C., earlier this month where they found a man trying to load a full-sized fridge into the trunk of a four-door sedan. "The fridge was one-third in the trunk while the remainder teetered over the edge of the car's bumper," Const. Justin Stewart said in a release. "The fridge was secured to the vehicle using rope and the seatbelts from the car." Stewart said the driver told him he thought what he was doing was OK and apologized after he was told that the load was unsafe for transport. He then removed the fridge from the trunk of his car and arranged for a less precarious mode of transportation, police said. Cpl. Sherrdean Turley said that although there is some humour in the situation, someone could have been hurt.

A Kentucky jury rejected a man's claim for $16 million in damages after his penis was amputated without his consent. According to the Louisville Courier-Journal, Phillip Seaton, 64, went into hospital in 2007 for what he believed to be a routine circumcision to treat inflammation. But Dr. John Patterson said he found potentially life-threatening cancer during the procedure and believed it necessary to remove Seaton's penis right away. In the trial that got underway Monday in Shelbyville, Ky., Seaton was seeking damages for "loss of service, love and affection" to his wife.

How-Cow gets stuck on safety barrier

Cow gets stick on road barrier
The animal was stalking the roads in the Italian mountain village of Montecorvino Rovella-Salerno when it decided to head toward greener pastures. But, misjudging the height of the railing as it took a leap, the cow's front and hind legs became separated by the safety rail - which is normally supposed to keep cars from crashing down the mountainside.
Local mechanic and amateur photographer Roberto Marano was driving towards the village when he spotted the bonkers Bessie - and took a snap to show his family and friends.Luckily the resourceful bovine managed to wriggle free without the need for human intervention and carried on grazing in the forest.
