A Vietnamese woman said she snipped off her husband's penis with scissors and threw it into a river after he allegedly had an affair and beat her, Taiwan police told AFP.Police said the 30-year-old woman, identified only by her last name, Pan, cut off about half of her sleeping partner's penis at their home in Tainan.Pan turned herself into police and faces assault charges, investigators said Sunday.The woman claimed she threw the severed appendage into a river for revenge.

Her Taiwanese husband is 29, jobless and known to use drugs, police said.

A suspected attempted robber - who failed to actually take any money in three armed heists this summer – has given up and turned himself in, say police.Police said the man tried to commit three armed robberies in 13 minutes in August, to no avail.

Police said a man brandishing a handgun aimed the weapon at the clerk at Mac's convenience store in Peterborough, east of Toronto, at 4:30 a.m. Aug. 19.He didn't make any demands, police said, and left the store empty-handed.

Eight minutes later he walked into a nearby Tim Hortons and tried to get the staff's attention.

Employees saw the handgun and hid, police said, and the man once again left empty-handed.

Five minutes later the man stopped a pedestrian on the street, pointing the handgun and demanding items.

Ty Sharpe said he was incredulous that someone was potty enough to request for pot on the popular site."I was surprised, I was really surprised that someone would actually put on there they were looking for weed, an actually illegal product, to the fact that I called my boss to make sure it wasn't one of our guys trying to do a reverse sting," Sharpe told the television station. EVERGREEN PARK, Ill. — Students at a suburban Chicago high school will have to hold it or risk staying after school.

A policy at Evergreen Park High School allows students to leave class three times per semester to go to the restroom. POSTMAN hoarded more than 30,000 letters and packets in his house, car, shed and a rented garage after claiming he had no time to deliver them.Paul Willicott, 44, was caught out when he was spotted putting mail in his garage in June this year.

The Post Office ­investigated and found 174 undelivered packets. They then discovered 798 letters in his car boot and 67 sacks containing 30,130 items in his house.It cost Royal Mail £3,400 to deliver the hidden post, a court was told.

Richard Porritt, defending, said Willicott worked a four-hour shift but it took him more than five hours and the situation “snowballed”.Willicott, of Paignton, Devon, worked at the Torquay delivery office from 2008 until he was sacked in June.

He admitted two charges of delaying the mail at Torbay magistrate’s court. He is set to be given a community sentence next month. (daily mirror)
