A couple in India has been arrested for allegedly trying to bury their baby girl alive on the advice of a spiritual healer. Police say they arrested 35-year-old Bharati Rani and her husband Dinesh Kumar, as well as Dinesh's brother, who was at the graveyard with the couple Wednesday in Pilakhuwa, in Uttar Pradesh province. Rani had reportedly been told by a so-called godman that burying the 45-day-old girl would protect the rest of her children from serious illness, according to OneIndia News. The couple had previously lost a child due to illness.

A worker at the graveyard alerted police after he heard a baby crying. Polie said the infant was taken to hospital and is expected to recover. Police are still searching for the godman.

BARRIE, Ont. — Police arrested a 15-year-old boy in this city after his mother told cops he stole his sister's Nintendo Wii remotes. Police said the mother called them Monday night and told them her son stole the game remotes and pawned them at a local shop. The boy is also on probation for an unrelated charge, police said. He was taken to the police station for theft and is being held for a bail hearing.

A Northern Ireland man who showed up to watch a civil trial was instead hauled off to jail after taking a phone call in the courtroom. The chatty spectator, 36-year-old Paddy Sweeney, was ordered behind bars for two hours then fined $322 after ignoring a judge’s request that he turn off his blaring cell phone, The Associated Reported. Sweeny reportedly spoke for a brief period after getting a call while inside the Londonderry courtroom and could have faced up to a month in the clink and a $4,025 fine for the interruption, according to the AP.

It’s just politics, people.A Wisconsin man was hospitalized Tuesday after reportedly hurling himself in front of an SUV his estranged wife was driving in an effort to keep her from voting.

Jeffrey Radle, of Chippewa Falls, had been arguing with his wife, Amanda Radle, Tuesday afternoon over how she planned to vote in the state’s gubernatorial recall primary, police told the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. The paper reported that Amanda Radle was in favor of the effort to unseat GOP Gov. Scott Walker, a stance that Jeffrey Radle opposed.

When Amanda Radle attempted to pull out her husband stood in front of her, the Journal Sentinel reported, citing a police statement.She reportedly went on to nudge him  several times with the Dodge Durango she was driving. Each time Jeffrey would “retreat and re-establish his ground,” police said in their statement.

The "Hot Dog Hooker" vows to keep serving up stripteases from her hot dog truck despite being busted for the second time.  Catherine Scalia, 45, pleaded guilty to prostitution after she allegedly agreed to keep an undercover cop's weenie warm for $50, reported the New York Post.

He called me up, she said. I said I either come to your house or you come to mine. He came to mine. I started doing my strip. The next thing you know, the cuffs were on me, I was being charged with prostitution. But she was defiant on her way out of court Monday.

Police say Scalia offers up sexual favours from the trailer parked in her East Rockaway, N.Y., driveway.  A judge sentenced her to seven days in jail and ordered her to undergo a psychiatric evaluation, the Post said. She was charged in 2005 for the same scheme.

Police say a naked man riding a unicycle on a Houston-area bridge has been accused of distracting drivers and creating a hazard.Kemah police Chief Greg Rikard says 45-year-old Joseph Glynn Farley of Clear Lake has been charged with indecent exposure. Farley was jailed Thursday on the misdemeanor count, with bond set at $1,500.Rikard says Farley was not intoxicated or impaired when he was arrested Wednesday afternoon in the buff on a bridge that links Kemah and Seabrook.

Rikard says Farley told officers that he liked the way it felt. His clothes were found at the base of the bridge. The police chief says Farley had been falling off the unicycle and into traffic.

Online jail records did not list an attorney for Farley.
