What-North Korea flag mix up (video)

North Korea's representative at the International Olympic Committee has said "the people are angry" over the Olympic flag mix-up. The North Korea women's football team walked off on Wednesday after the South Korea flag was mistakenly displayed before their match, delaying the kick-off by over an hour. "Of course the people are angry," Ung Chang told Reuters Television, speaking in London. "If your athlete got a gold medal and put the flag probably of some other country, what happens?"

Achievement-In London Olympic 100 year-old torchbearer

Amongst the 7,000 names runners carrying the torch for the London 2012 Olympic Games, is Diana Gould, who will turn 100 in May.

Nice-London Olympic bus does push-ups

An artist transformed a London double-decker bus into an athlete doing push-ups to promote the Olympics. Czech artist David Cerny created the unique red mechanical artwork in honor of the London 2012 games, reports Metro.Cerny bought the six tons bus in Holland before attaching two gigantic electrical arms which lift the body of the vehicle up and down. Powered by an electrical engine, each push-up is accompanied by a recording of sounds evoking tough physical effort. Mr Cerny hopes the vehicle, named the London Booster, will become the unofficial mascot of the Games. "There is one common exercise for every sportsman in the world, and that is push-ups," he explained.
Wow-Brother against brother for Olympic gold

Brothers ready to help each other, and then race each other for triathlon gold. It sounds like a typical piece of fraternal mischief-making, but there is no malice in Jonathan Brownlee’s voice when he recalls the moment he decided triathlon was his life’s calling. For Great Britain to have one world-class athlete in a sport is worthy of celebrating; to have two from the same family is truly extraordinary, and the biggest headache for the

crowds who flock to Hyde Park and The Mall for the men’s triathlon on Aug 7 might be over deciding who to cheer.  There is no risk of the brothers, who are housemates in Leeds as well as siblings, falling out in the scramble for gold. Indeed, they could even work together in an effort to deliver their best form.  “We’ll never do anything that disadvantages your own race, but we both know that there’s a thing that we can do that help both of us and are in both of our interests,” Alistair says. “We do consider ourselves part of a team. We train together all the time, we live together. But at the end of the day it’s an individual sport so when it comes down to the end, we’re going to be racing it out.” The sight of two Britons on top of the podium – a real possibility, given they have won nine of the past 10 ITU World Series races – would also be the perfect advertisement for a sport which is already one of the fastest growing in the world.

How - Squirrel disrupt beach volleyball

Olympic beach volleyball players have come across an unexpected handicap - squirrels burying their nuts on their courts. The rodents have been burying beechnuts and acorns on six sandy practice courts at London's St James's Park. And bikini-clad players have been left grimacing as they land barefoot on the squirrel snacks. Grounds men now have

to rake the sand before practice sessions, reports The Sun. Six courts, two warm-up courts and a hospitality lounge have been created in the leafy lakeside park close to Buckingham Palace.  The 15,000-seat main competition arena in nearby Horseguards Parade has not been affected. A London 2012 source told the newspaper: "It's nuts but true. It seems squirrels have been invading the courts and either hiding or dropping their nuts. "But it won't affect the competition because the sand is regularly raked.

Nice-A Streaker disrupts Olympic torch relay

A streaker has disrupted the Olympic torch relay by jumping out in front of an official runner while holding a fake flame. The naked man, who had 'Free Tibet' daubed on his back, covered only a short distance before being tackled by police officers. He was quickly covered in a blanket by police and led away from the event in Henley-on-Thames. It happened just before the torch was handed to Britain's most successful Olympian, Sir Steve Redgrave. Andrew Tinsley, an environmental scientist from Henley, said: "The guy came out of nowhere. He definitely picked his moment to shine.' "The juxtaposition of the bus relay logo of a running man and the streaker was immensely funny."A Thames Valley Police spokeswoman confirmed that a 27-year-old man from Henley has been arrested on suspicion of outraging public decency.
Hip-hop-Dancing policeman entertains Olympic crowds

A policeman entered into the Olympic spirit by entertaining crowds along the torch relay route with some impressive dance moves. It happened as the Olympic Torch made its way through Sevenoaks, Kent, on day 63 of the nationwide relay. Swept along by the carnival atmosphere, the unidentified policeman decided to provide the crowd with some entertainment as they waited for the torch. His routine began with some robotic dance moves before he began to hop around on one leg. Encouraged by the reaction from the crowd, the officer attempted some break-dancing before finishing with an energetic hip thrust. The moment was captured by photographers and on a mobile phone video camera before later being uploaded onto YouTube.
Hot-Olympic swimming golden girl Stephanie Rice tweets racy bikini photos

IT may have landed in her in hot water in the past but it seems the lure of social networking is just too strong for full-time swimmer and part-time poseur Stephanie Rice. The Olympian has shared yet another racy image -

this time in her birthday suit. Well sort of. Rice posted this image on Instagram earlier today, thanking her friend and swimwear designer Ellie Gonsalves for the bikini - a 24th birthday present (even though her birthday

was June 17). While there was an initial fear that the spruiking of a alternative swimwear brand to Speedo might be a conflict of interest - her

management has insisted that she is not breaking any commercial agreements. "No, Stephanie isn't an ambassador for Ellie Gonsalves, she just loves their stuff. She doesn't have any relationship with Speedo anymore so there are no restrictions there.''
Duchesses of Cambridge on the ball as Olympics come to town

She is better known as being a dab hand with the hockey stick, but the Duchess of Cambridge showed off her deft touch on the ball today as she and Prince William visited a sports project to mark the start of the Olympic

Games. The Duchess took to the pitch a day after Britain's women footballers got Team GB off to a flying start with a 1-0 win over New Zealand. Wearing a grey-and-white checked summer dress and a pair of

wedges, she was pictured strolling along with a football at her feet as the she and the Duke of Cambridge toured an academy school in Rotherhithe, south east London. Her husband's attempts to show off his own ability with his feet were less than successful, as he twice missed the target when he joined a group of youngsters for shooting practice. William blamed his lack of prowess in front of goal on the loafers he was wearing; telling one of the youngsters it was "obviously" the shoes.
