Police in hot pursuit of a speeding cyclist in Poland were left shocked when they finally caught up with him riding completely naked and wearing his pants on his head. Traffic police moved to arrest the rider after he set off a speed camera in Bialy Bor, northern Poland. The cyclist, Piotr Chmielewski - then fully clothed - had been flagged for exceeding the 30mph (48km/h) speed limit in place. But by the time traffic police had caught up with the cyclist they found him completely naked apart from his underwear, which he was wearing on his head.
Local police spokesman Waldemar Lada said: 'He was fined twice - once for speeding and again for indecent exposure.' Mr Chmielewski, who was fined a total of £200, disputed the allegations of nudity made against him, arguing, unsuccessfully as it would later turn out, that he was in fact wearing a thong.

Brazilian Catarina Migliorini sold her virginity last week in an online auction to a man in Japan known as "Natsu" for $780,000. The pair plan to seal the deal in
a plane flying over international waters to avoid prostitution laws. Brazil’s attorney general, Joao Pedro de Saboia Bandeira de Mello Filho, ordered an "urgent investigation," to look into the auction, which he equated to "people trafficking."The AG wrote a letter to the country's foreign minister insisting that Sisely's plan "looks to me like the crime of people trafficking, whose repression is provided for in international treaties."He also said Migliorini, who currently lives in Australia, should have her passport revoked and she should be returned to Brazil for "the exercise of prostitution".

Scientists recorded the heart rate, oxygen intake and carbon dioxide output of movie fans as they watched a selection of scary movies. They found feelings of fear, which triggered the release of adrenalin and raised metabolic rate, could burn 113 calories in 90 minutes – the same as a 30-minute walk.
And The Shining, starring Jack Nicholson, was the best calorie burner of the lot.
Dr Richard Mackenzie of the University of Westminster, which held the study with movie rental firm LoveFilm, said: “The 10 films tested set pulses racing. “Adrenaline is known to lower the appetite, increase the basal metabolic rate and ultimately burn calories.”

A woman has given birth to twins at the age of 61 after over 30 years of trying for a baby.Antonia Asti used 10-year-old frozen embryos to get pregnant with daughter Sofia and son Roberto. The retired secretary said: “I’m thrilled. All I ever wanted to be is a mother and now my dream has finally come true. I fought for so long.” Mrs Asti, of Sao Paulo, Brazil, struggled for years for a baby with carpenter husband Jose, 55, and first tried IVF aged 51.When that failed she tried to adopt but was deemed too old. The ageing embryos were successfully artificially inseminated this year at the fourth attempt.

A Florida school superintendent is seeking to fire a middle school teacher for repeatedly denigrating the looks and intelligence of his students, according to a termination letter.The charges against Robert Fine are contained in a letter drafted this month by Heather Fiorentino, who heads the Pasco county school board. The October 5 missive notes that Fine has been involved in troubling classroom incidents dating back four years.
Fine, 65, holds a teacher certification for “General Science, (grades 5-9),” according to Florida Department of Education records. Despite being reprimanded, Fine has continued using “sarcasm and demeaning humor” when interacting with students, reported Fiorentino, whose letter cited several examples of inappropriate classroom behavior, including:
* Remarking on one girl’s appearance, Fine told her, “Honey, you look bad every day. Pages will be turning in the yearbook and mirrors will be smashing.”
* A girl told school officials that when she had the hiccups, Fine suggested that she “go into the restroom and look into the mirror and ‘scare’ the hiccups away.”
* Other students reported an incident where “a male student called out in class when a female student was unable to answer a question” Fine had posed to her. The teacher responded by telling the girl that she was a “great ventriloquist,” noting that, “I asked you a question and you made the answer come out of the dummy in the back.”
