“The passenger who was also intoxicated had been dropped off at the arena and then proceeded to make her way onto the ice and remove her clothing despite the employees objections, delaying a hockey game,” said Mounties in a release. Tiffany Hourie has been charged with impaired driving, leaving the scene of an accident, and refusal to provide a breath sample. Brittany Hourie, the passenger, has been charged with indecent acts, obstruction of an officer and causing a disturbance. Both women are expected to appear in court later this month.

A callous cat thief was captured on CCTV stealing a kitten from a pet shop – shoving the timid puss into her bag. Shocked shop owner Carol Ivory saw the crime unfold when she checked her security film after noticing the black and white kitten was missing. The film shows some children pluck Little Boy from his basket before the woman grabs the kitten and puts him in her bag. The theft took place on Saturday from the private kitchen of the long established Albany Pets, in Roath, Cardiff, south Wales. The footage begins with a group of people, two men, two women and three children, entering the shop and looking round.
One of the children picks up the kitten which is then taken by the woman who rapidly gestures to her friend to give her the handbag. The kitten is then unceremoniously bundled inside as the woman crouches down and appears to zip it up. Mrs Ivory has been left so shocked by the theft she will not be renewing her licence to sell pets to the public. She was looking after the kitten, and its mother, for a friend who is away on holiday. Both animals were in the shop's kitchen which is off limits to the public.

Prostitutes in one of Brazil’s biggest cities are taking free English classes in anticipation of a wave of visitors to the 2014 World Cup. Cida Vieira, president of the Association of Prostitutes in the city of Belo Horizonte, said that 20 have already signed up for the courses and she expects at least 300 of the group’s 4,000 members to follow suit. The association is organising the classes and seeking volunteer teachers. “I don’t think we will have problems persuading English teachers to provide services for free,” she said. “We already have several volunteer psychologists and doctors helping us. “She said classes are expected to begin in March and last up to eight months. “It will be important for the girls who will be able to use English to let their clients know what they are charging and learn about what turns them on,” she said. “And for the same reasons we are also thinking of offering free French and Italian classes,” she added. Prostitution is legal in Brazil. Belo Horizonte’s 62,000-seat Mineirao Stadium will host six games of the World Cup.
