Surprise-Couple found prowler asleep under bed

SARNIA, Ont. -- A man who passed out under a stranger’s bed after walking through an unlocked door has been sentenced to 88 days in jail. Steven Tyler Williams, 20, pleaded guilty Thursday to prowling on the nights of Oct. 26, 2011, and April 16, 2012. He also pleaded guilty to court-order violations. A couple was “traumatized” to find Williams, who they didn’t know, passed out under a bed in their home at 5:45 a.m., said assistant Crown attorney Ilana Mizel. Justice Mark Hornblower said it must have been a “horrific” discovery for the pair. Williams had apparently rummaged through the home and awoken the residents, who searched the home until they found him under the bed. He had taken an assortment of street drugs, in violation of a probation order. Williams told the court he was sorry for what he did. It's not the first time Williams took shelter at the home of a stranger. In April, Williams was found under a porch after police were called about a man sleeping in a city park. A resident saw officers searching a nearby park and told them about the man under her porch.

After 15 years, the term of the mayor of an Alaska town shows no signs of stopping anytime soon. Stubbs, a part-manx cat with a short tail, has been the mayor of Talkeetna since he was elected shortly after his birth, KTUU-TV reported. Back then, several of the town's 900 residents didn't like the human candidates who were running for mayor so they encouraged everyone to vote for Stubbs the cat as a write-in candidate. The cat won

the election and has been mayor ever since, the station reported. Stubbs spends much of his time at Nagley's General Store, where he is quite popular. "Oh my gosh, we probably have 30 to 40 people a day come in who are tourists wanting to see him," Lauri Stec, who works at the general store, told KTUU. Talkeetna is located near Mount McKinley and is about 180 km northwest of Anchorage.

Why-B.C. runners bare all

Dozens of men and women bared all and braved all at Wreck Beach’s 16th annual nude fundraising marathon despite Sunday morning’s thunder and heavy drizzle. And while some decided to remain on the sidelines because of poor weather, others simply laughed it off. “If it’s sunshine, the sunbeam is very strong here — a hazard — almost seven times

as in Japan in the summertime,” remarked University of B.C. Prof. Ken Matsuyama, who was participating in the run for the first time. “In that sense, this weather is nice.” Disappointed spectators, such as new mom Irene Irons, who travelled with her family

from the U.S. to join the run, had to sit this one out. She recalled similar weather two years ago while pregnant with her daughter, Jane. “We came all the way from Hawaii for the run, (but) it’s cold, maybe if you guys had sunshine,” she said.  Nonetheless, booming

thunder wasn’t enough to stop 16-time Wreck Beach Bare Buns runner Kevin McGinnis. “I injured myself one year so bad I had to literally drag my leg. My leg was bruised all the way (from my hip) to my calf but I wasn’t going to miss it,” McGinnis, 40, said.

"It may reawaken passions or just accentuate the passions that already exist within relationships." The best-selling 'Fifty Shades of Grey' books have already been credited with reviving ailing marriages. Watch-Woman Banked At Least $1.3 Million via Silicone Enhancement Business

The Georgia woman who has pleaded guilty to administering silicone injections to a large female clientele banked $1.3 million from her illegal nationwide practice estimate prepared by federal prosecutors in advance of her sentencing tomorrow on a felony conspiracy charge. Investigators contend that Kimberly Smedley, 46, showed a reckless disregard for the safety of women seeking enhanced hips and buttocks by injecting a staggering amount of non-medical grade silicone between 2003 and 2011 (when she was arrested by federal agents). Pictured at right, Smedley injected her clients--usually in hotel rooms--with a substance intended for “metal or plastic lubrication, and as an additive for paint, furniture, and automotive polishes,” according to a sentencing memo filed by prosecutors in U.S. District Court in Baltimore, Maryland. As a result, these women “are prone to infection as a result of the toxic substance” injected by Smedley, noted prosecutors, who added that, “Even if there is not an adverse effect right away, medical problems will almost certainly arise at some point in the future.
